Elegant display solution for Windows 10 IoT Core on Raspberry Pi2

The Raspberry Pi2 is an affordable hardware that you might choose for your Windows 10 IoT Core testing or development, but when comes the time to show case your solution, a DIY hardware might afraid a lot of people. So it is time to find a nice solution to enclose the Raspberry with a display.

Windows IoT Core Image Helper fails to deploy FFU

Hi Folks,

When using the Windows IoT Core Image Helper tool to deploy a Windows 10 IoT Core image (.ffu file) on a microSD card, the following error can happen :




If you encounter this error ("There were come errors while loading Windows IoT Core onto your SDCard."), the most probable cause is that your microSD card size is less than 8GB.

In the Get Started page, it is said that a 8GB micro SD card is required. However, it used to work wit a 4GB one in the previous drops. So be aware that you need to change it if you used to work with a 4GB one.

When using the right hardware, the deployment of the image runs smoothly.

The first time you will make your system boot with this image, it will take a long time. You will probably be confronted to a five minutes long black screen. This is completely normal, and will only happen the first time. Do not try to reboot your system during this time !

The future of Windows Embedded: Windows 10 for IoT Devices Roadmap

Hi folks,

Microsfot has just made their latest roadmap regarding Internet of Things (IoT) publicly available at WinHEC Shenzhen from March 18^th to 19^th 2015.

As you will see Microsoft is planning to bring the power of Windows 10 to the embedded devices. Microsoft is planning to release 3 products for IoT devices based on Windows 10:

·         Windows 10 “Industry”

·         Windows 10 “Mobile”

·         Windows 10 for IoT devices
